It's a Miracle!
>> 8.06.2009
Ok, don't get too excited. To me, this was pretty exciting. To you, it's probably old news. To the person that first did it... a miracle! What am I talking about? Well, I actually tried a thrifty trick (I was told to try a million times) for the first time and I was so happy with the results!
equals a shiny new look! (ps toothpaste is probably best left for less precious pieces)
What had I been thinking all these years not trying that trick?! This makes excited to try so many things... lemon juice to freshen the dishwasher, Alka-Seltzer to clean a vase, club soda for my carpet stains, Preparation H under the eyes (um, maybe not)... there are so many tricks that I've heard of, but haven't tried yet. I can't wait to get started!
Have you ever waited too long to try a simple trick?

Hi there! Good one with the toothpaste and the silver :) I use hydrogen peroxide on ink marks. I am always dropping my ink pens on my pretty furniture and the peroxide always works like a charm:)
Thats a good one, im gonna try that one day. thanks for sharing the tricks. Btw, thanks also for the visit and nice comments. have a nice weekend to you and your family!
Love this trick! It works well on tarnished silver. You can use it in a pinch for silverware, although I prefer using Wright's on Grandma's silver.
I didn't know about the hydrogen peroxide for ink marks that Jerrie mentioned above . Thanks, Jerrie!
I love your blog, Kasey! You've got lots of great money-saving ideas. I am following it and will check back in for more great ideas.

I have this wonderful book, Clean House Clean Planet by Karen Logan and it's FULL of wonderful little tips like that!! A few of my favorites: club soda for mirrors, baking soda scented with essential oils as a deoderizer, soap and water to keep away crawling bugs, and vinegar as a bleach! She has wonderful recipes for homemade, non toxic cleaners for the home, all simple to make, and much cheaper than anything you buy in the store. Thanks for the tip about silver jewelry!
