20 Minutes + Boxes

>> 1.29.2010

I'm loving the boxes.

Unimpressed? Check out the before:
Yes, seriously. I told you Nate brought in a major amount of stuff (see all of those spirals from his college courses that he just had to keep). It's crazy how much smaller piles get when you organize them into boxes (one other box of stuff moved to another room).

I can't decide which layout I like the best...

What do you think... 1, 2, 3, or 4?

Oh, and I can't forget to give a shout-out to Lauren of Life Uncluttered for giving me the Sugardoll Award earlier this week! Go checkout her blog; it's too cute!!

I like number 1 or 3 the best. I'm still so jealous of your finds!

huge improvment! I like # 4

I like #1 - it's clean and tidy and my attention went to the art first, then to the rest of the shelves.

BTW, love your blog!

I say option 1. But what would it look like if you swapped the black and white boxes with lids? So that it would be more of a checker board than a black side v white side? but i think that's one of personal sorts of things you have to look at in person.

Can we hear more about that puppy you have there?

@Meredith~ Not only can you see a bit more about her, but you can find out how much I pay for her a year :):

Thanks for the lid swap idea... I haven't thought about that yet!

I think 3 is the best and 1 is my next favorite.

I think you and my husband would get along great. He frequently says "WHY do we have to keep your notebooks from college?!" Just because, okay? :-)

Definitely #3! It has no visual clutter and is very streamlined! Looks like the boxes came from Ikea.

Carmie January 29, 2010 at 12:45 PM

I kind of like 3 and how the boxes on top and bottom are broken up by the books. I went to Home Depot today hoping I could find the boxes you purchased on sale but alas, nothing (except some cute men that is :)

Blue Creek Home January 29, 2010 at 12:49 PM

I am delighted that you came over and left a comment!!

And, what a difference a day and some boxes make!!
I like #3 the best.

@SeeJaneGetRich~ They do have similar boxes at IKEA, but I was able to get a great deal by going through HD clearance for 1/3 the price.

@Carmie~ I wish I could have bought enough boxes for everyone! There's a good chance that some boxaholics (like me) wiped out the rest of the stock (like I did). For a little bit more, you could try IKEA.

Bravo! Looks great. I vote for #3. You are inspiring me to organize!

ConsciouslyFrugal January 29, 2010 at 12:52 PM

1 and 3 are my favorites, but I prefer #1 slightly. Just a wee bit more streamlined.

BTW--I adore "before & after" photos. I think that's the only reason why I visit sites like Design Sponge. It's so soothing to see something go from chaos to peace!

Liza January 29, 2010 at 1:02 PM

My favorite is #4!

Love the blog btw, you speak to my organizational OCD - glad to see I'm not the only one!! :P)

Kate January 29, 2010 at 1:06 PM

I like #4 because it doesn't feel as "matchy" as the others so it feels more casual but still looks amazing.

The Diaries January 29, 2010 at 1:16 PM

I like 3! It looks very clean!

carrie January 29, 2010 at 2:40 PM

I like #1 best.

Looking good!!

Danielle and Clint January 29, 2010 at 2:52 PM

3 for me! I love the dog butt in the before picture!

Carly January 29, 2010 at 5:43 PM

It looks so great! I vote for #1!

Katie January 29, 2010 at 7:27 PM

definitely 3, it looks awesome!!!

Joyeful January 29, 2010 at 10:23 PM

Love no. 1! What a transformation! I love the boxes you got at a bargain! How did I miss that deal? : ( You've got a beautiful blog!

Jenny January 30, 2010 at 7:04 AM

Either 1 or 3. Amazing what a few boxes can change!

Leanne January 30, 2010 at 10:37 AM

Wow, what a difference! You did a great job. I'm torn between #3 or #4. I like the perfect balance in #3, but sometimes I like to mix things up a little like in #4. Thanks for visiting and have a nice day.

Serena January 30, 2010 at 1:44 PM

I think 1 or 3 look best and "cleanest."

Meg January 30, 2010 at 4:52 PM

I like number 3! Those boxes are to die for!

Kristi W @ Life at the Chateau Whitman January 30, 2010 at 5:42 PM

No.3 immediately jumped out at me. It looks the most balanced and clean. No. 1 is the runner up.

Amanda January 31, 2010 at 11:50 AM

I like #3 the best then #1. What an improvement!

Alexis L. of One Grand Home January 31, 2010 at 2:20 PM

I like the visual simplicity of #1 but all of your work is really nice.

Jacquelin Seybert January 31, 2010 at 8:55 PM

So much better! Gotta love being organized.

Anny February 1, 2010 at 9:20 PM
