I'm loving the boxes.

Yes, seriously. I told you Nate brought in a major amount of stuff (see all of those spirals from his college courses that he just had to keep). It's crazy how much smaller piles get when you organize them into boxes (one other box of stuff moved to another room).
I can't decide which layout I like the best...
What do you think... 1, 2, 3, or 4?

I say option 1. But what would it look like if you swapped the black and white boxes with lids? So that it would be more of a checker board than a black side v white side? but i think that's one of personal sorts of things you have to look at in person.

I think 3 is the best and 1 is my next favorite.
I think you and my husband would get along great. He frequently says "WHY do we have to keep your notebooks from college?!" Just because, okay? :-)

Definitely #3! It has no visual clutter and is very streamlined! Looks like the boxes came from Ikea.
I kind of like 3 and how the boxes on top and bottom are broken up by the books. I went to Home Depot today hoping I could find the boxes you purchased on sale but alas, nothing (except some cute men that is :)

@SeeJaneGetRich~ They do have similar boxes at IKEA, but I was able to get a great deal by going through HD clearance for 1/3 the price.
@Carmie~ I wish I could have bought enough boxes for everyone! There's a good chance that some boxaholics (like me) wiped out the rest of the stock (like I did). For a little bit more, you could try IKEA.

1 and 3 are my favorites, but I prefer #1 slightly. Just a wee bit more streamlined.
BTW--I adore "before & after" photos. I think that's the only reason why I visit sites like Design Sponge. It's so soothing to see something go from chaos to peace!

I like #4 because it doesn't feel as "matchy" as the others so it feels more casual but still looks amazing.

No.3 immediately jumped out at me. It looks the most balanced and clean. No. 1 is the runner up.
