They don&#39;t necessarily work great in practice. Like all those home-decor blogs we read - I&#39;m fairly certain most of the time their houses don&#39;t look as perfect as the pictures. <br /><br />I gave up on bar-soap (outside of the shower) years and years ago. The first time I painted the kitchen cabinets I decided not to poly. Mistake..... They were difficult to keep clean and showed every waterspot. So exactly a year later I had to repaint them all and then add the poly.
