We DIY'ed our living room built ins (you can see them here if you like: http://www.condo-nest.com/2012/04/bookshelves-finishing-touches.html) and while they weren't super cheap, they were surprisingly affordable. Depending on material costs around you, it might not be as bad as you think! Good luck!Kaitlinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13168203516500504155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5438518576931140312.post-63409136673544806072012-07-17T15:02:06.592-05:002012-07-17T15:02:06.592-05:00If you do the built in yourself, it probably would...If you do the built in yourself, it probably wouldn't break the bank. And, if it's something you'll keep even after the addition, I would probably consider doing it now. Having functional, livable spaces in super important when you're living in chaos in practically every other area of your house. More storage & space would be more likely to be able to absorb some of the displacement caused by the addition.carriehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09629413971530015377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5438518576931140312.post-80004409544647364912012-07-17T14:58:12.047-05:002012-07-17T14:58:12.047-05:00I love the idea of a built in. I personally, like a change occassionally & new pillows are simple.

I like the new light fixture!

I'd add some inexpensive patterened curtains & maybe a graphic rug to add a little pattern/interest to the room.

Love the idea of a built in - I am thinking of getting a quote for a bookcase wall myself. I had one built for my old home & it was nice, but really expensive.Jo Rohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02264579476888957435noreply@blogger.com
